So I'm (finally) approaching the end of Cold Steel IV. What a saga!

I'm intrigued by the design of the Pales and the Empyreal Fortress itself - they're festooned with eyes, but no one seems to mention them. They're treated as huge and impressive and magical but referred to as living. Not yet anyway.

Is there any significance to the fact they have large eyeballs growing all over them? Is it just a design thing or is implying something about them?

The sheer, radiant, unhinged joy of clocking they were doing the terrifying pork advert is going to illuminate the rest of my week. Shrieked with delight at 7.45am on a Sunday. What a time to be alive.
