Hello, looking for general advice.

My Sony trinitron screen will randomly fade to black after being powered on for a minute or 2.

What are the possible causes for this? Is it safe to keep or just trash it.

It kinda freaked me out so I don’t want to turn it on to get a video, it has happened twice now.
