I’m not sure how to draw well at all. Feedback and tips, etc appreciated!

Hii! I’ve never posted here before and I’ll very likely take this down later, but I was wondering what looks so wrong with my drawings because I haven’t drawn in YEARS really since I was about 14 maybe or so, I don’t remember, and I’m now 18 and turning 19 this year and it’s so frustrating to see people so amazing at art and such cool styles and then like looks terrible. 😭😭

Most of these took around an hour and a half, some longer, and I can’t do shading or rendering AT ALL. I’ve tried very very basic shading, but it still looks extremely off and I have no clue how lighting works and I can never pay attention when trying to study things so I love stagnated terribly.

I also don’t think I have a nice art style, or if it’s boring or if I don’t have one at all. I’d like to draw things cutesy but also a little more semi-realistic so not completely chibi characters but not realism either. I’m not sure at all.

Also the examples are NOT representative of what I usually draw. These are from art trades so all the lovely characters belong to other people! ^ ^ I’m just showing these drawings because they’re the only ones I’ve done any time recently.

I usually draw first on paper and then color them in on my phone and using my finger to draw lol.

Some are also somewhat rushed because I get frustrated with myself but I still tried to do the best I could at the time or if I was stressed with it.

I’d appreciate any tips and just I guess generally what to do? And how it looks? I’m not sure what I’m looking for but anything is appreciated! Thank you so much! :)

Hii! I’ve posted here somewhat recently but I’m open again for new art trades if anyone would like to!!

I can try to draw pretty much any type of character besides complex mecha and I will NOT draw gore or nsfw. I can try to draw complex designs though such as with humans and/or anthro-like characters!

I’m looking particularly to trade with anyone that maybe has a cutesy style? :o though anything would be ok!

Please comment if you’d like to trade! Thank you so much!! ^ ^

(Examples are not my characters besides the last one since it’s very old, they belong to people I’ve done art trades with!)

Hii! I know I posted here already but just now today I was able to get some more pictures of the underside of the abdomen! I still am not totally sure if the two dots are the book since they’re tiny and in the middle or what exactly.

The abdomen looks somewhat slender, but the pedipalps are very thin and with little lines and hairs, no bulbs or boxing gloves as they call them lol! I might take this post down later I was just wondering if anything is more clear in the second and third pictures! So sorry if not 😭

Hii! This is my pet jumping spider, Meatball! I was wondering what the circled part is on the underside of the abdomen. I’ve always called her a girl, but I didn’t know if that’s the female area or something else. I’m still learning more about spiders and their anatomy!

I don’t know how old Meatball is either, this spider was found outside on August 29, 2025 and molted around the very very beginning of November 2025 and now hasn’t molted since that time in November 2025. So I wasn’t sure if this spider is a male or female and what age, etc!

Compared to the time of when I found her and her first molt (finding her in late August, molting early November) and since it’s now almost May 2026, I didn’t know if the spider would molt again? I know as they get closer to maturity there’s typically more time between molts, though it’s been quite a while and I didn’t know if that was because of winter being the majority of that time or what lol.

And I circled it, but I saw two little dots and I didn’t know if that was the female area or something else. The pedipalps are very thin with little light-colored lines and lots of hairs. The abdomen has always looked somewhat slender, but I have another bold jumping spider that looks similar to her (only with more orange on the back and with no white line across the face) and they look pretty similar.

I have a bold jumping spider that’s definitely a male and he has longer front arms with the white ish spots/markings and the pedipalp bulbs and they are NOT brown at all like Meatball’s. Instead, they’re just strictly black and white with the bulbs toward the end.

I’ll also include a picture of the day I found this spider (it’s the one with the orange background).

I’ve just always wanted to know if my pet jumping spider is a girl or boy because I’ve tried posted about this before and always get very mixed answers haha. Though I totally understand if it’s hard to tell, and I don’t know how old this spider is either since I found her outside.

This spider is pretty small though, but I think it might be normal for their species. I’m not really sure how to describe how big the spider is because I know it can vary. But Meatball is definitely smaller than the (I think?) adult male bold jumping spider I have.

Last time it wouldn’t let me edit the title and I wanted to specify that I’m looking to learn if this spider is a male or female and what the circled area is (the two little dots/hole-looking area!)

I heard the female part looks more like one bigger and shiny dot, so I’m really not sure lol. Thank you so much! ☺️

Hii! Sorry to repost, thank you so much for your help!! I just wanted to add more information and more pictures so I can try to show the spider more accurately and if that would make it easier to tell!
