After securing a 3-1 lead, the 8 seed Orlando Magic have been eliminated by the 60 win Detroit Pistons who will face either the Cavs or Raptors in the ECSF

This is the second instance of the Orlando Magic surrendering a 3-1 lead to the 1 seed Pistons in the first round, this first occurred in 2003.

Tonight, 76ers beat the Boston Celtics in Game 6 after falling down 3-1, becoming the first team to push to a Game 7 without home court advantage since the 2020 3 seed Nuggets vs the 2 seed Clippers in Game 6 of that year’s WCSF.

Two teams since then have forced a Game 7 down 3-1 just to lose: 2023 2 seed Celtics vs 8 seed Heat in the ECF and 2025 2 seed Rockets vs 7 seed Warriors in the first round (both of the winning teams would win on the road to advance, both teams would lose the following round and both teams had Jimmy Butler on the roster)

due to the 2020 playoffs occurring in the Bubble, it will be the first time team down 3-1 will play a game 7 in the opposing team’s building after tying up the series since the 2016 57-25 Cavaliers who would win the NBA championship vs the 73-9 Golden State Warriors.
