Alright to preface I used to use obs audio filters on my windows 11 pc to clean my mic input and I was extremely satisfied with them (low-key angry I didn't have the exact filters in audacity)

When my old mic broke I had the thought what if I could have a filtered mic like obs for everything...including obs for my new mic.... Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Audacity, discord.... Etc. :D

Went XLR this time... Stupid old mic micro USB port issues!

I discovered a program (Equalizer APO) that allows you to take your raw mic input and run it through multiple VST Plugins (in order of your choosing) and provide the filtered audio through the same source. It just works all the time!

There was a lot more setup... And testing... Didn't help being new to it....But worth it. Wanted to share for people who didn't know.

I am using VST plugins in this order:

Rnnoise, Reagate, Peace EQ, ReaComp, Loudmax

As I post my setup, there is always room for improvement. Any recommendations? Any thoughts?

I’m trying to connect a ShoreTel 480 desk phone into my existing Windows 11 audio setup without using the ShoreTel/Mitel softphone.

Current setup:

• Shure SM7dB (with 48v phantom power enabled from Scarlett)

• Focusrite Scarlett 2i2

• Windows 11

• Equalizer APO with VST plugins (Rnnoise, rebate, peace, etc.)

• Used for video calls, OBS recordings, etc.

My goal:

I want my processed mic audio from Windows/EQ APO/VSTs to feed into the ShoreTel desk phone so callers hear the same cleaned-up mic audio I use for PC calls and recordings.

I also want the caller audio from the ShoreTel to come back into my setup, so I can hear it through my normal headphones without breaking my existing OBS/video-call setup... Maybe through a input on the scarlett and direct monitoring..?

I’m trying to avoid a softphone software solution because I may not have the required ShoreTel/Mitel login/admin access. Is that complicated to setup..? Cost money..?

I’ve looked at devices like the JK Audio THAT-2 or Voice Path, possibly with a cheap USB DAC/audio interface as the dedicated send-to-phone output.

Any recommendations? Thoughts?
