Does anyone else randomly lose motivation with Chinese?

Some weeks I feel really motivated and everything feels fun. Then suddenly I start forgetting grammar, tones sound terrible again, and I feel like I’m making zero progress 😭

Curious if other people go through this too. What usually helps you get out of it?

Chinese feels really hard sometimes.

Characters, tones, reading, writing… it’s a lot. Compared with English, I feel like Chinese takes much more effort to really understand and use.

But Chinese calligraphy keeps making me want to continue.

Even when I don’t know every character, the writing looks so beautiful and artistic. It makes the language feel deeper somehow, not just something to memorize.

Has anyone else become more interested in Chinese because of calligraphy or handwriting?
