Does anyone else crochet like this?? Self-taught and worried my method is too inefficient.

Ok, I'm 18, have been crocheting on and off since I was around 9/10. I'm entirely self-taught from YouTube tutorials, and I've been corcheting like this for as long as I can remember. I hold the hook in my dominant hand, and I swap my working yarn back and forth between by right idex/middle finger, and my left index/thumb. I'm aware that this is probably 10x less efficient than any other method, but it's so ingrained in my head that I can't imagine crocheting any other way.

EDIT: Thank you for a the kind comments! To answer a few questions, this position mainly ours straign on my left hand, but I can crochet for a while without any significant pain this way. Also, I have never knitted before in my life, so I have no experience in that department.
