I'm back with even more preposterous HoPIs this time, so I'll be sharing a few of my top picks because-

1. I'd love to read your thoughts n opinions about them along with instances where you managed to beat the hospital/academic system at their own game

2. I want the HoPIs ranked on the basis of creativity and plausibility, in ascending order, just for sh!ts and giggles 🌚

3. Most importantly, I need y'all to propose even more absurd and/or hilarious ideas to help me continue on this noble journey I've started 😌

Preface: When I was a kid, I wanted to be a writer and whatnot. Anyways, life happened so here I am, a miserable MBBS intern.

Now, my college/hospital (private) has wronged me and everyone who has the misfortune of pursuing a degree here in ways I'd rather forget for the sake of my mental peace, if nothing else. So, the wrongdoing relevant to this post is that my co-interns and I are being forced to write down a certain number of fake case files per day in the dept we're currently posted in- right from OPD consultation to the discharge summary and everything in between, otherwise our attendance, stipend and graduation would get badly affected. Now correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think this 'duty assignment' covers any of the core competencies for MBBS interns as stipulated by the NMC. And idc if this is the 'norm' in other colleges, what's wrong is wrong, period. I'd love to be a whistleblower but I don't wanna dox myself/ jeopardize a career my family has glorified to the skies.

What's worse, the fake cases don't even belong to our hospital but to another new hospital nearby which has poor patient flow but comes under the aegis of the same private uni as ours. Technically judging by NMC norms, it shouldn't even be a teaching hospital but hey, just bribe the right person(s) and fill rooms with fake files written by underpaid, overworked BULLIED interns and you're good to go, right?

This is where my small act of rebellion and mischief fits in & call it malicious compliance if you will- we've been strictly ordered to follow a particular format for the fake cases (and they have access to our biometric punching ID which can be blocked if we displease them) but the caveat is, they can't control WHAT I write in the HoPI as long as it's accurately written. They just give us certain diagnoses/day and ask us to fabricate entire cases around them. So if you give me an obgy case of fall during pregnancy, there's nothing stopping me from turning the hopi into a full fledged Indian TV soap scene, provided I mention the relevant intervention, progress, meds etc.

So I've managed to to kill my boredom and address my grievance, both with a single stone - creative ❌ absurd ✅ writing. I've been writing such preposterous histories in random files that'll make their jaws drop to the ground but they can't stop me coz technically I'm playing by THEIR rules 😈

What are they gonna accuse me of, writing FRAUDULENT FAKE stuff? 😱

I just hope with all I've got that someday some upright NMC official comes across my lovely creations and closely 'admires' my artwork, iykwim 😉
