Heyy,

I've been wanting to start to run but the only thing stopping me was finding proper shoes.

I like barefoot type shoes but I know running shoes usually have a thick bouncy sole that helps with running.
Tbh, it's a preference so I'm not too picky on that as long as the shoe box is properly wide. I really can't wear pointy shoes because they hurt and aren't comfortable.

I'm also not trying to break the bank, so any shoes that don't go beyond ¥10000-¥15000 (63-95USD) would be nice.
Any suggestions on wide shoebox running shoes?

PS: Hoping to find a brand that offers in-store option in Japan.

Thanks!!

Helloo,

I don't know where else to post this so I thought I would post it here.

I have been wearing geta (2 tooths) for the past 2 months ish and I already bought 2 pairs. The first pair didn't have rubber so they got worn out insanely fast (I wore them almost daily outside). The second pair, I asked for rubber to be added. Now after a couple weeks, the rubber started unglueing itself (even though they also added nails).

I really like geta and they're comfortable to me. The thing is, I don't wanna have to be buying new ones each time. If maintaining them myself was an option, I would do it but they seem to be made for special occasions (kimono/yukata wear & long time ago to avoid mud on the floor) and not for daily wear.

This leads me to my next question. I have heard about zori and setta and was wondering what was the difference and in terms of comfort, which would be the best option. I am hoping to be able to wear them daily for around 5-10km each day, just walking around.

PS: Currently living in Japan, around 1 hour away from Tokyo. Shop recommendations are welcome 🙏

Thanks!
