It’s my first broken bone or anything medical EVER. A spiral fracture of 5th metatarsal. Had surgery 7 days after the fracture. Was originally told it would be two screws and a plate. Woke up from surgery, 7 screws and the plate AND a piece of my bone is now floating in my muscle?!!?! (Can be seen in xray between the 4th and 5th metatarsal) The doctor said it was too deep lost in the muscle and he didn’t want to extend my recovery by tearing it up looking for it so he left it. Has this happened to anyone else?!?!
