One semester short, migrated to the US, planning to continue to study back in the PH and only take NCLEX

Hello,

I am a 4th-year nursing student in the Philippines. I had to stop my studies in 2024 because my family migrated to the United States. I am now planning to return to the Philippines to finish my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.

My clinical instructor told me that I may continue where I left off as long as the nursing curriculum has not changed.

My goal is to complete my BSN, take the NCLEX-RN, and hopefully work as a registered nurse here in the United States.

I have a few questions for anyone who has been in a similar situation: 1. Can I take the NCLEX-RN with a BSN degree from the Philippines, even if I have not taken or passed the Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination (PNLE)? 2. Do I need to have my BSN degree evaluated in the United States before I can apply for the NCLEX and obtain a nursing license? 3. If so, how long does the credential evaluation process usually take?

I would greatly appreciate any advice or insights from those who have gone through this process.

Thank you!
