Hey everyone. I've seen a few posts similar to this, but kinda had a few additional questions for people.
I currently own a Volvo, but I have loved the Rivian R1T since it was unveiled like 8 years ago now I think? Basically I've talked to my wife about rivian so much that she borderline hates Rivian (jokingly). I have really been interested in buying the R2 Performance but I'm also a big believer in not buying brand new cars.
I'm looking for someone's opinion that owns an R1T or R1S and is considering switching. Why did you decide to go with the R2 or why did you decide to stay with the R1?
I'm currently considering either a new R2 Performance Launch edition or a used R1 (not sure which one yet). I have 2 kids and the R1T backseat would be a little tight with the rear facing carseats we have (maybe someone can talk to this). Both will be around $60k. With the R1, the biggest depreciation will have already happened whereas the R2 will take that hit right after I buy it.
I love the idea on the R2 of having NACS built in, bring able to power things with the car, as well as the newest tech like the scroll wheels, etc. I don't care a ton about autonomy except being able to drive on the highway for extended drives to help with fatigue (maybe once a month or every other month).
Thanks for the inputs!
