I have chosen to abandon the realm of Windows reverse engineering (Wine etc.) because there are better options like Tiny 11 that run beautifully in VirtualBox ver. 7.2.6+ and are stripped of all garbage from Microsoft, easy to install direct from free ISO download. Update of key windows files is disabled together with Microsoft ads and big-brother tools; only non-key files are updated (like MS Defender malware definitions). Activation keys (needed for updates) are usually available at low price online in many e-shops in the EU, like repurposed license keys. Wine does not provide any malware protection and enables any windows malware to read all your linux data.
