Is he actually serious about me or just lonely

Hi, I need some outside perspective on my situation. I can’t tell if I’m wasting my time or if this guy is actually serious about me.

I’ve been seeing a guy for about two months now, and things got close pretty quickly. On our second date, he told me he liked me and asked what I was looking for in dating, so I thought he was pretty serious about getting to know me.

Now, though, I’m starting to feel confused. Usually once during the week I sleep over at his place, and even if he leaves for work first, he tells me I can stay longer and leave whenever. But we don’t consistently spend weekends together or make solid plans. We text every day, but sometimes I feel like I’m the one initiating conversations pretty often.

He also talks about future plans like “we should do this” or “let’s go there sometime,” but none of those things have actually happened yet.

One thing that bothered me was overhearing him talking to his friend on the phone, and he referred to me as his “lady friend.” Since then I’ve started wondering if he only invites me over during the week because he’s bored or lonely, not because he sees this going anywhere serious.

What do you guys think? Am I overthinking this, or do these feel like signs that he’s not actually that serious?
