6 days and 600 km with my new 2026 Volvo EX-30 twin is disappointing.
I am 75 and have been a Volvo owner for nearly 40 years. Some were new some used. I think it has been 8 Volvos including this EX-30. I have also purchased Saabs, Mercedes, VWs, Mazdas, Lincoln, and Honda. I prefer Volvos over all of the others. However to choose a few words to describe my feelings about this EX-30 purchase are: disappointed, misled, and frustrated. I know nothing is perfect but there is a limit to which one can remain positive. Interesting events. 1- Dealer finally told me they are a city car that's why I should expect about 300 to 310km per charge because I live in a very rural area. 2- My Ex-30 interprets asphalt patches as either road centre lines or road shoulders. This interpretation means the car steers quickly to either the left or right even though I'm no where near the centre line or shoulder. The dealer told me to turn off this safety feature as if it has no importance. 3- my 400 km drive home from the dealer required 2 charges arriving home at 17% battery. no AC on, heat low at about 20`C passenger seat heat on low. I certainly don't and wont loose sleep over this type of disappointment, not important enough. My advice to anyone who lives in a rural area about to buy a fully electric vehicle is; make sure you also have a gasoline powered vehicle as well, because sometimes it's more than 150km one way to your destination.
