Sphere Apparel Disaster
For a band that famously controls every detail of the experience in all the right ways — it’s honestly wild how far the apparel quality has slipped. Back in the 90s and early 2000s, Phish merch actually felt premium: soft cotton, good cuts, shirts you wore for 15 years because they somehow got better with age. Meanwhile the Sphere merch looked incredible online, but the actual shirts are brutal — these Bella+Canvas heavyweight shirts fit like medieval tunics. Thick, stiff cotton, giant boxy sleeves, zero shape whatsoever… like they were specifically designed for people preparing to churn butter outside a castle. For what they charge now, it’s kind of insane that bootleg lot shirts routinely fit and feel better than official merch. That’s right I said it. Prove me wrong.
