Context:
So I am 17 y/o and live with my mother along with my 12 year old brother. My father live about 100 kms away from us due to his job in another state basically.
My younger brother doesn't study much let alone completing his work. I believe he has now intentionally started acts like he some big germaphobe to escape from school and schoolwork.
Basically from last few weeks he began by changing clothes three times a day something my mother has to dry and all. Then day before yesterday my parents scolded him a lot as his schoolwork was pending a lot. Then yesterday he began like you stepped in washroom without slippers and so wash your feet with some to my mother for which she scolded him a lot but in no vain. Then he began saying I will not do my work as the notebooks are dirty to my mother. This and a lot more has been a daily routine for my mother.
I know he's lying as my mother was furious yesterday and called my father to come home from his place asap and my brother instantly began studying upon hearing( he fears his father atleast a little), studying and using the same 'dirty' notebooks. And acting extremely nice in front of his father like we're the bad guys. And he doesn't have any problem eating street food and one thing I know about germaphobes is that they will avoid such food at all. Also I am studying for a very important exam and I try to distance myself from this nuisance but this had been getting to me.....
What should we do to avoid this nuisance? Except boarding school or smth as my parents don't want to send him there and it is basically a last resort.
