Getting my old Montero running
3.0 6g72 , 89 LWB. Car hasn’t cranked in 12 years. Just before my parents health issues, Dad put in a new remanufactured motor. Probably only has 5k on it.
Gas tank is shot. Fuel lines are shot. Just pulled the motor. Turns over, but cylinder 3/6 valves are rusty and want hold compression. Cams look good. Lobes are nice, no rust. Stuck my camera into the spark plug hole. This is cylinder 3 and 6. The other 4 look better.
Should I do anything with these cylinders? Was thinking about honing with stones on a drill as a last resort.
Don’t really wanna take the whole bottom end apart. But need to clean the valves definitely. They’re kinda crusty. Gonna pop off some rod caps and inspect what I can.
