I have 2001 silverado 2500hd. 6.0L LQ4 and a 6l80e trans. Im rebuilding my motor and swapped the factory flex plate with a SFI PRW2036471 dished flexplate.
My i thought I required the GM12563532 spacer which I installed between the crank and flexplate with longer bolts and i found it binding the torque converter without fully mating the block and trans. Installing without the spacer I had a gap between the torque converter and flexplate of greater than 1/4inch. Reaching out to PRW they say since its dished I dont need the spacer and just with standard length hardware and a sleeve that goes in the flexplate and around the torque converter shaft. Well today I went with what PRW said and I still have a large gap.
Any suggestions or can I run with the current gap. Also the gap is with the torque convertor pushed all the way back if that matters. And the torque converter is the 6 bolt stock
