Running Is NOT a cheap Sport!

You would think that out of all sports and pastimes out there running would be on the more basic side for costs.

Nope, Nada

Its not just shoes. 300-400 miles per $200 pair goes pretty fast. There's inserts, hydration, comfortable non-chaffing clothing, watches, apps, nutrition, supplements.

What am I forgetting?

First Ironman 50+yrs old

I did several things a little different this time! This will be my 4th. First one in 3 years and first one after turning 50. Prior, I hired a triathlon coach, went to camps, and progressed from sprint distance to oly, to half.
This time, ALL crossfit. I mean ALL crossfit too. The Ironman is next week and 3 days ago was my first time in the pool. I haven't road biked yet (my ass is gonna hurt!!!)
I have added a lot of echo bike to my training, and I have a Vasa Trainer in my box. I own an affiliate. I run a lot, and long trail runs on Saturdays.
Was pretty nervous last week. Im over that. Ya know what, I enjoyed this journey 10x more then training straight triathlon. Swim, bike, run, swim, bike, run. Gets a little boring.
To conclude, the journey was much more enjoyable, I am focused on enjoying the event much more. I don't care about the time I finish. I am going to stop during the swim and look around. I am going to sit up on the aero bike whenever I want. I may even stop at an aid station, just to re-charge for a minute.
I do want to finish, but that's about it.
Am I wrong for my tactics or train-of-thought?
I love crossfit btw!!! It's my soul, my blood, my life!

How to vet and artists portfolio?

A little direction would be a huge help.

I think I am picking good artist or illustrator. I have conversations stating needs, asking their background and abilities. I do go over their portfolio to see if its the right fit. Lastly, I state no AI.

I still get artists that think is ok to pass AI slop to me.

Like, if I wanted AI, I would just research some prompts and do myself. Why go through the waste of time to talk with them, sending them concept files, then waiting only to get get crap. And I am not going with the cheapest bidder either. I know what good work should cost.

Rant over, any help on the right things to do to research the artists, things to say, or ask for would be greatly appreciated!

Have not printed yet, please go easy on me!

I do want to try to get a prototype 5-6" figurine to this character.

I see problem with the size of her blades, any advice on sizing there?

Also her texture is more of a carbon fiber scale, should I smooth that out first?

Lastly, what is best way to get a STL format from what I have her in FBX file format now?

Thank you!

For those who have launched games across Asia, what worked, or failed, in your experience?

I understand these are all very different markets culturally and commercially.

I’m looking to hire a Head of Marketing to help capture the widest range of Asian markets possible.

Would it be smarter to hire someone highly specialized in a specific market, or target someone in more of a regional hub like Singapore with broader cross-market experience?

Just got back from the IIcon Conference in Vegas.

There were far more insights pointing to a bright path forward then the uncertainty.

One of the standout moments for me was the opening talk. The perspective was thoughtful, grounded, and a powerful way to kick off the week.

One idea that stuck with me, simple, but profound:

“100 million people leave this earth every year.
100 million people enter this earth every year.
The 100 million leaving watch cable television and long-form video.
The 100 million entering play games and watch short-form video.”

Let that sink in.

We can debate trends, tech shifts, and disruption, but the underlying demand curve is undeniable. New generations are growing up native to gaming.

We still need to stay sharp, adapt, and evolve, but zooming out, the long-term outlook is incredibly strong.

The pipeline of gamers isn’t slowing down anytime soon, and that sets this industry up for decades of opportunity.

Ok really, how often do I need to maintenance my rowers, echo bikes & ski ergs? Not, how often should I. How often do I need to. I think we have had them for 12 years and haven't yet.

I know there are companies that do it. Is it expensive?

I have had 1 computer go down but nothing else has ever pooped out yet...
