speculum injury
Hi yall, I had an endometrial biopsy done on the 6th and I am having some horrifying complications
When I got the procedure everything was fine, dandy even. I was listened to and prescribed adequate pain relief. One of which was Lidocaine cream for my vagina/vulva(which will be important later)
Immediately when she opened the speculum I felt a deeply uncomfortable burning sensation but with the lidocaine I thought maybe I was a bit tight from abstaining for so long(I haven’t had intercourse in over 9 months & I do not use internal toys or anything of the sort that could’ve helped stretch my muscles before this) and immediately upon returning home and going pee, I felt this burning continue and noticed I could not use toilet paper, I was(and am) bright red down there, my labia is swollen 2x its normal size and it burns like a MF every time I urinate, fast forward to the next day and it feels like I’m freshly postpartum, I literally was crying in pain from just wiping myself down there and the pain was unbearable. I had to have my fiancé go raid the new mothers section at Walmart and get me a peri bottle just to go pee!! I called my clinic and they proceeded to prescribe Monistat despite the pain being there less than an hour after the procedure was done citing my symptoms (red angry skin around vulva and entrance and my perineum, feeling like fire ants on my labia when I urinate) meant I had a yeast infection mere hours after the procedure was done. And oh boy I’m glad I didn’t listen to them. Spoiler alert, the very next day I take some anti histamines to try and calm down the area and I see two distinct gashes IN MY LABIA!!!! I look like I just pushed out a 4 pound baby, my labia and perineum are raw because they TORE ME!! I could only visualize two of the gashes because the rest are hard for me to see because it’s so close to my anus and surrounding area but yeah I never knew it could just, rip the skin in half like a baby 😀 I genuinely do not know what my doctor did but the pain is debilitating at times and the fact that she prescribed monastat without even seeing me(I do not itch, have no funky discharge atm, everything’s normal besides the cuts) and if I had used monastat on the injury it would’ve aggravated it worse and could’ve then CAUSED an infection. Has anyone else experienced this?
