Nonprofit Delulu with Safety Concern
Buckle in, y'all. As the title states, there's a completely unhinged person within my nonprofit circle who had the absolute audacity to call myself and our recently hired new employee, to scream about many made up grievances. We still don't understand why us; though their adult child was also a poorly performing employee of the nonprofit put on a PIP by their actual supervisor, not by either of us. Thxfully, this person put in for sabbatical from volunteering "due to health reasons" while their adult child / awful employee went scorched earth in quitting.
Through this, I learned DeLuLu previously went uninvited to first employee's house 20 miles away in a different city, requesting a fancy homemade breakfast.
It's a complicated dish. It was an ungodly hour, on her day off. We all know the price of eggs. This poor new hire didn't tell anyone, because they thought it was "normal" dynamics of our Team. I finally convinced them that was awful behavior and I'm sorry they had to deal with that.
Technically, no laws broken yet we both feel she was so aggressive on the phone to the point of if it were in person, we could see her getting physically violent. No doubt, there's jealousy / insecurity there. Not sure how much of a security threat or what to do, since I'm the only one who was confided in / the others would be appalled if they knew. Other than encourage her to speak up, is there anything else to do?
