Bruh…UPS and their label adjustments smh happens way too often now.
At this point I swear UPS just does this to skim more off the top. Can’t even trust the boxes THEY sell.
2500 hours on one of my X1Cs I had to replace the Z Lead screw bearings.... Failed to home errors
Just in case anyone has the same issue in the future.
I kept getting the Z homing failures. It wasn't a misaligned plate or the linear rod bearings that sometimes pop out I had double checked all of that and everything was fine. All connections under the heatbed were fine too.
I had contacted customer support with videos to see what they think the problem was and they tried to get me to replace the entire heatbed. Which I didn't think was the issue at all because there was moments where the heat bed would physically refuse to move up and down because it would seize up. It would make a grinding noise as well. So that told me it was more of a mechanical issue.
I went with my gut and requested the complete Z lead screw replacement kit. Which came with 3 new lead screws, 6 bearings (3 top and 3 bottom), 3 plastic washers, 3 silicone plug things that go on the top bearings, screws for the brass nuts and the 3 brass nuts that ride on the Z lead screws.
The replacement kit part number is FAC067 it was $35
plus shipping about $40 or so.
You could probably get away with just replacing the bearings, but I could not find any information on which ones they were so l added some photos of the exact part numbers for the bearings after I removed them.
I didn't take my printer apart before hand because it would sometimes print and I needed it to fulfill orders whenever it decided to work. Usually only at cold starts but after a print or two it would throw homing errors and refuse to print until the next morning.
Keep in mind both the bottom and the top bearings are different.
Top bearing part number F688Z
Bottom bearing part number F625Z
It's a bit hard to read them in the pictures, but I believe those are the correct bearing numbers.
