Hello! I am completely new to photography, not even a hobbyist quite yet. My goal with photography is just to take some shots for my family and myself, subjects will mostly be family pets and the California wildlife in the parks nearby.
My Pen came equipped with a M.Zuiko Digital 14-42mm 1:3.5-5.6 lens. Is this enough for my goals? I've seen a ton of hummingbirds lately, and can't seem to get them in focus with my lens, though that may be a setting or skill issue (or both). I am not a professional and can't afford some $8k birding kit, but I would like to try and get some pictures or video of the birds and squirrels. Any lens worth stalking ebay or best buy for used/refurb prices? Budget would ideally be around ~$150 but I could push for $250-300 since they are so much more expensive than I ever thought, would just need to save up, hoping that isn't embarrassingly low.
Thanks for any advice/recs!
