I played tenor throught high school, set it down for about 10 years, and started playing with a street band in the last year. My old student Armstrong needs more work than it's worth so I think it's time for me to start looking for my first intermediate or professional horn.

Some local used shops have some for sale but it's hard to figure out what is worth it and what is not, here's what I'm looking at:

- 1974 Buffet Super Dyn Action - $2,800

- 2024 Chateau CTS 80 - $2,600

- 1976 Couf Royalist - $1,800

- 1918 Buescher True Tone - $1,800

- [no year listed] Conn 10M - $1,800

- 1933 Martin Handcraft Imperial - $1,600

All of these are being sold by reputable local used sax shops so shouldn't need much work initially, and I plan to test out whichever ones look most promising.

I just need some help to know if any of these prices are unreasonable or especially good. And as I said I play in a street band so I am prioritizing big punchy sound over smooth or soft classical sound.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

EDIT: corrected year of SDA after calling the shop

Used Tenor Sax Prices Help

I played tenor throughout middle & high school, set it down for about 10 years, and started playing with a street band in the last year. My old student Armstrong needs more work than its worth so I think it's time for me to start looking for my first intermediate or professional horn.

I just need some help to know if any of these prices are unreasonable or especially good. And as I said I play in a street band so I am prioritizing big punchy sound over smooth or soft classical sound.

▲ 7 r/tea

I received the 2026 First Pick: Green Tea Collection from One River Tea over the weekend, and it came with two of these, which the ORT site calls Leishan Silver Balls. There is little info about these on the site or on the English internet so I figured I'd ask here:

Anyone know how to brew this?

These are 2.5g. Google translate on the package says 3 minutes in 150 mL of boiling water but that seems like too aggressive for a green tea to me. I generally brew Chinese greens like this:

4-5g of leaves

200ish mL of water

165-175 ºF

30-60 s

Increase time and temp from there for a few steeps
