Budget:

Around ₹60,000 to ₹75,000 including lens if possible.

Country:

India

Condition:

Preferably new, but open to used if it gives significantly better value.

Type of Camera:

Mirrorless

Intended use:

Mainly photography with some casual video. Looking for a good all-round beginner camera.

If photography, what style:

Street photography, travel, portraits, casual cinematic shots, everyday photography, landscapes. Maybe wildlife later after getting more experience.

If video what style:

Casual cinematic videos, travel clips, occasional YouTube/social media content.

What features do you absolutely need:

Good autofocus, beginner-friendly, good image quality, decent low-light performance, interchangeable lenses, compact size, good lens ecosystem for future upgrades.

Portability:

Important. I want something lightweight and easy to carry around regularly.

Cameras you're considering:

Mainly considering the Sony A6100 with the Sony 16-50mm kit lens (SELP16502 / kit lens version).

Also considering:

Sony ZV-E10

Canon R50

Sony A6000

Cameras you already have:

None. This will be my first dedicated camera.

Notes:

I am a complete beginner coming from smartphone photography and want a camera that I can grow with for several years.

Currently leaning toward the Sony A6100 because of the autofocus, compact size, and Sony lens ecosystem. Planning to start with the kit lens and later maybe buy a third-party lens like Sigma/Viltrox.

Main questions:(TLDR)

Is the A6100 still worth buying in 2026 for a beginner?

Is the kit lens good enough to start learning photography?

Are there better alternatives in this budget range?

Should I buy new or look for used options instead?

Would Canon R50 or ZV-E10 be a better long-term choice?

I need some advice on how to handle this situation.

I was involved in a minor accident on April 13th where another vehicle hit me. The damage to my vehicle came to around ₹3500. The person driving the vehicle wasn’t the owner, so I contacted the actual owner. He agreed that I should get the repair done, share the bill, and he would pay me.

I got the repair done the same day and shared the bill with him. He initially said he would send the money, but since then he has been delaying continuously. Now it’s been quite some time, and he has started saying he will only pay ₹2000, and even that he keeps postponing.

I went to the police station to ask what I can do. The officer told me to write a complaint and submit it, but also mentioned they might not actively follow up and would mainly provide a complaint number (which is usually useful for insurance claims). Since I’ve already paid out of pocket and the repair is done, I’m not sure how useful that is now.

At this point, I feel like I’m just being dragged along with false promises.

What would be the best way to handle this now?

Should I still file the complaint?

Is there any legal way to push this further for such a small amount?

Or should I consider this a loss and move on?

Any advice would be really helpful.
