TPU for gaskets involving green gas?

Good day, reddit!

I have an obsession. An obsession with gen1 AI tornado grenades. I simply love them and think theyre the best reusable kinetic grenades made to date. I own a bunch that are solid, but these days its more common to find them full of leaks. So I figured why not make gaskets with my X1c and TPU? Only ive never printed tpu before.

Can yall share any tips? Is there a grade of TPU that will be best for this application? It needs to hold up to the pressure and last a reasonably long time. But by its nature of being cheap, even if it needs re gasketing every game or two, whatever.

Has anyone done anything similar?

I got this gun 2nd hand and it was dropping shots pretty hard even at full hop. I took it apart and the bucking was all sorts of greasy. I got it degreased, re assembled and it now works great.

You might think you're doing the next guy a service by cleaning things up before selling the gun. But hopups operate by friction.

To clean your barrel just use an alcohol damp patch on your unjaming/cleaning rod. Works like a charm and doesnt mess everything up. Turn off your hop first though, to avoid tearing the bucking or stressing the arm. Im also a big fan of 6mm bore mops. Found at gunstores in the cleaning isle (duh) they work really well and you dont risk the patch falling off since there isnt one. Just make sure you use a nylon coated cleaning rod since a stainless steel one will scratch your brass or aluminum factory barrel.

Constantly improving my setup. To enhance and elevate readiness and effectiveness. Running Esstac mag pouches on the front. Blue force gear on the side.

I made the XE15 CAT to solve a problem where we play. During the "defend the village" game at BLTactical the last objective is a lesson in self hatred. The defending team can hole up in the attic and lock down the building almost indefinitely. Well a rocket through the window kills everyone in the building. So after a frustrating game I decided to make this.

One problem. Green gas or propane only sent the foam vortex football a few feet. So I switched to Avenger CO2 shells. Well, they destroy the football. Like 2 firings and the fins are torn off. Very annoying. To solve it I had to design a discarding sabot that encapsulates the fins. It took 7 versions before the sabot itself wouldn't be destroyed by the dump of CO2 which is 800-900 psi if you were wondering. This was the first sucessful test. Notice the yellow, thats the sabot.

Files are on makerworld if you want to make an XE15 CAT and launch nerf mini howler vortex footballs without destroying them. The shell screaming in towards its target has a profound impact on the defending team. Max range is like 150 yards when fired at a 45° angle.

Easily my favorite field out of the dozen ive played at. Its not often you find one with full size buildings. Honestly its what elevates this place above the other dedicated airsoft fields Ive played at. Theres just something special about fighting it out in a small village, clearing buildings floor to floor. learning why they call stairways fatal funnels and why grenades are the king of room clearing. Then theres the full size trenches, those are a riot as well. We often play a battle royale type game there with multiple teams fighting it out attrition style. The trench network while heavily skewed to near point blank engagements also supports 300+ foot longshots for snipers and high risk high reward for anyone brave enough to cross no mans land.

If youre in the upper midwest, you absolutely must try this place out. Were blessed with quite a few awesome fields within driving distance of the twin cities, but this ones by far my favorite. Twin Cities Airsoft being second, but they lack the full scale that big lake brings. Im just not a fan of dirt floor open top "buildings" that are 4ft by 4ft. It can be fun, just not really my thing.

Saw the ACR in blue tigerstripe so I had to share my AA-12. I too was a child of MW2 and it went a long way in shaping my love of firearms. I also painted over the orange tip and attempted to make the muzzle look sooty like it had actually been fired in combat.
