Shoutout to getting 5-gallon water bottles delivered
With poor tap water at home, I bought a filter device and used it for a bit - works OK, probably the cheapest option, but not as convenient and thorough as I'd like. Looking for a better solution, I priced out options like buying water through Amazon or Walmart delivery. Having individual gallons delivered from Walmart turned out to be the cheapest delivery option (not 2.5 gallons, for some reason) but I'm not a fan of having a 3rd party doordasher type person who expects to deliver hamburgers have to haul 20+ gallon jugs of water to my doorstep at a time.
SO I found a local company that delivers 5-gallon office water cooler bottles (aka these things) and it turned out to be the 2nd cheapest option, a trivially higher cost than the Walmart option. They deliver to residences too (so I'm hardly the first to think of this) and offer water coolers and stuff too. I just bought a cheapo USB-charging spigot that you stick directly on the bottle, and I have the bottle next to my desk. Super convenient, and superior quality purified water than I was getting with my shitty filter.
I figured people here would sympathize. Hopefully someone finds this helpful.
