I don't have any Indian heritage, nor does my partner, but I have always loved Indian food, especially South Indian food, and especially dishes with fennel seed and black pepper from Tamil cuisine. My favourite channels on YouTube are Gita's Kitchen and Revathy Shanmugam, and Madras Samayal is also good.

Here is what's on the plate: plain dal, bean poriyal, mushroom pepper masala, chicken kuzhambu, thengai thogayal (mostly hidden behind the bread), phulka, rice, kachumber salad, and curd.
