After years of wanting a dedicated PC rig, I can say that I finally now have one. I said to hell with it, went out and got myself a rig about a week ago. Growing up I've always been a console person and it wasn't until the late 2010s that I started getting more interested in PC gaming. Around 2019-2020 I got myself a gaming laptop, which was sufficient for awhile, but obviously not on the same level as a proper desktop.

I think what attracted me the most to PC was the overall greater level of freedom compared to console. The freedom to mod, use whatever operating system, play virtually any game, build your system to your exact desired specs, and just the general level of versatility compared to console. So after years of saving and being financially responsible, I decided to take the plunge and spoil myself.

I ended up going with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and an AMD RX 9070 XT with 32gb of DDR5-6000 RAM. I'm super happy about this build, especially because I put it together myself and everything is working great with good temps. Now I'm on the hunt for games that will properly put this rig to the test. I'll happily take any suggestions. I also just wanted to say 'hey' as this is my first post ever!
