Struggling to get Au Pair interviews
Hi everyone,
I’m 28, female, from Kenya, and I’ve been trying to become an au pair abroad. Ideally, I would love a French-speaking country because I really love French, but I’m honestly open to anywhere whether in UK, Germany, Luxemburg, Austria anywhere really. I understand the US is strict about age. I do have childcare experience I’ve worked as a babysitter and nanny (paid roles), so I’m not completely new to this. I’ve been applying online, currently on AuPair.com, and I’m almost done setting up my profile on NinaCare as well. The problem is, I haven’t gotten even a single interview so far, and it’s starting to make me wonder if it’s my age or maybe where I’m from. It’s a bit discouraging because I genuinely enjoy working with children and was really looking forward to this experience. Has anyone been in a similar situation or has advice on what I could improve? Is it something in my profile, or are there specific countries/families that are more open? Also is there an agency or wesbsite that accomodates girls my age? I’d really appreciate any tips or insights.
