AITA for wanting to go on a lake trip with my friends instead of my parents’ pickleball tournament?
I (18F) just graduated high school and my twin sister and I got invited on a lake trip with our friends as kind of a post grad thing. One of our friends is moving far away soon so it’s probably one of the last times we’ll all hang out together.
But my parents already planned a trip to another state for their pickleball tournament like 2 months ago and expect us to go. We’ve gone to one of their tournaments before, so I get why they want us there, but we’d basically just be sitting around watching pickleball all weekend.
We tried explaining why the lake trip mattered to us but they shut it down and said “family comes first” and that they always supported us at our events.
AITA? Advice?
