So I’ve been digging into Pokémon lore a bit and something’s been bugging me. From what I understand, back in ancient Sinnoh (Hisui), Arceus and the Creation Trio (Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina) were kind of distant/absent for a long time, and a lot of the original worshippers eventually disappeared. Because of that, the Diamond and Pearl Clans ended up believing Dialga/Palkia were basically the creators of everything. But later on, it’s implied they were wrong, or at least didn’t have the full picture. What confuses me is this: what happened to Arceus in terms of how people remember it?
By the time of modern Sinnoh, it feels like Arceus is barely known. There might be a few vague myths, but nothing major. Meanwhile Dialga and Palkia are way more well-known and actively referenced in stories and culture. It almost seems like Arceus just faded out of common knowledge over time, with only a few people like Cynthia, Volo, or even that random hiker NPC having any clue about it.
So yeah—was Arceus basically forgotten by most of Sinnoh/Hisui/Johto
