My flow was very heavy and I took the first pill last night. Within 3 hours the flow was cut to light spotting.
I have Aga due to insulin resistance. I’m working on bringing that down but for the meantime I need to attack my androgens. My endo wants me to get on YAZ to accomplish this since she doesn’t think metformin will work as quickly at saving my hair, and I’m at a healthy weight. I’ve been on Spiro dosed at 100mg for years and the loss is progressing . Endo doesn’t recommend increasing the dose because my BP is low. I’ve been using topical Minoxidil since November.
It looks like my options are :
Attacking insulin resistance via lifestyle and diet + getting on oral minoxidil (and risk shedding again)
Attacking androgens via the addition of Yaz + Attacking insulin resistance via lifestyle and diet.
Any suggestions or advice?
Hi everyone! I’ve been dealing with hair loss especially the last year. I’ve been on Spiro 100mg since November 2021 and my testosterone is at 100 mg/l, a half from when it was when I started Spiro. Last year I found out I have hashimotos. I’m dealing with PCOS due to insulin resistance (homa ir 4.1) as well.
I have low iron, vit d and b12.
I’m considering treating the thyroid first (planning on meeting with my endocrinologist this week) but I’m wondering if I should try resolving my insulin resistance first?
I haven’t been really cleaning up my diet or working out as much as my body needs. Rather than just relying on minoxidil at this point, I am wondering if I should get on new meds. I’m on the fence about Yaz which my gyno has suggested/prescribed.
Or is it best to just correct my diet? I’m scared to lose more hair and the loss is spreading.
Anyone have any recommendations? Summers coming up and I’d love to wear one of these bras but looks like they mainly stop at F, if that. I’m USA based.
