More Bubble Up stuff!

I get overly excited when new stuff comes into the store and these just arrived. I had a positive experience with Tribal – Bubble Up Live Resin FSE – figured I ought to give the prerolls a shot. I have an ever-expanding backlog of flower to try out but I wanted to give these a quick go before they were gone.

##// packaging+looks Tribal’s new packaging is quite pretty. The color-matched containers are a good size, and the brushed metal caps are a nice touch, it’s a solid package. There was an Integra Boost pack inside which is appreciated. The joint itself has a dutch crown closure, and a plain white filter tip. The joints and the flower inside were all intact when I opened it up.

##// nose It smells excellent, as expected. Fresh, floral, grassy, soapy. The genetics of ‘The Zoap’ strain shine through – I’m convinced I can smell the pink guava. Sweet but sour scent with some well-defined earthiness. Grass potpourri. It still has the umami smell I mentioned in the concentrate review – but its less pronounced in this product. Quite unique.

##// taste+smoke You get the grass, gas, and a hint of the ‘soap’. Not unpleasant by any stretch, but I found after a couple passes I could feel the spicy/caryophyllene harshness in my throat and sinuses - enough that I was done for the session. It smoked well, it smothered well, the joint stayed intact and I will be able to re-light it later, I’m certain - which has basically become a deciding factor when it comes to prerolls for me.

##// vibes Relaxed and mellow. Not couch locked, but I’ve no intention of doing anything else tonight either. I didn’t get lazy from the concentrate version of this stuff – so maybe I’m just gassed for the day. The high is fairly pronounced. I know that I’m baked. Stoner vision – nice buzz behind the eyes and in my head.

##// verdict I knew these would be solid, and they were. The flavor/effects of the strain feel unique to me – the ‘bright’ strains I have tried always tend to taste strongly of lemons/oranges/citrus – but this seems ‘bright’ in a different way – more grassier/greens than fruity. For the price point (under $20) I think they hold good value - particularly if you want to switch up the strains/flavors in your rotation. It walks the line between ‘in da couch’ indica without putting me to sleep. Good vibes high, unique and interesting flavor.  

#BABY JEETER INFUSED PREROLLS – MAUI WOWIE I grabbed this pack of prerolls today – the weather here is historically terrible, so I figured I needed something sunny and bright to chase the Alberta ‘fool’s spring’ away.

I have heard only good things about Jeeter, and I know they have partnered with SNDL recently for Canadian distribution. I don’t know much more about the LP, but I do know they are very popular in the USA.

I am always very hesitant to purchase infused prerolls personally, and I hear constant negative feedback from all sorts of customers – they don’t burn well, they are infused with ‘chemicals’, they are expensive, they are mislabeled (60%!? Impossible!?), the same things most budtenders hear, I am sure.

Regardless, I like to keep up with the joneses and try new products because that’s the most fun part of my job. 😊

##// packaging+looks I’m a sucker for vibrant tropical colors and will admit I think the Baby Jeeter container is a great size/material/color right off the hop. I was expecting one of the divider/organizer plastic pieces inside that kept the joints separated/safely upright and was kind of shocked that it wasn’t present.

I have seen the divider thingy inside the Lord Jones Water Hash Taster Pack, and the Nugz Fruit Blast Taster Pack recently at a similar price point. Ultimately, I’m not sure how effective it is, and you can see in the photos there is not much kief in the bottom of the container either way.

In the marketing pictures Jeeter has on their website, you can see the kief coating completely covers the top of the joint – and you can also see that mine were packed top down and that it has rubbed off into the bottom of the container.

The fold/closure on the joint is the ‘Dutch Crown’ or ‘Dutch Fold’ style, which I think is becoming the standard across the board. The filter is color coded/matching the jar. The kief coating is thick and coats the joint very nicely – I dislike most coated joints, and I haven’t had a kief coated joint that I didn’t find irritating/gimmicky. Not so in this application. Whichever way they are getting the kief on the paper, it is very effective.

##// nose The pineapple/mango smell is overwhelming. I adore both of those things, so I am really pleased with that, and I imagine you aren’t going to buy anything ‘Maui Wowie’ if you don’t like pineapple or mango. It reminds me a ton of my favorite energy drink – Monster Ultra Fiesta Mango (I know this probably makes me a douchebag).

##// taste+smoke Although I don’t think it’s possible that weed could taste as good as this smells, it does give a good effort. It is undeniably tropical. Jeeter doesn’t list the terps (but they should get around to doing that imo), but I can assume Myrcene/Limonene are the top. Typical tannin/earthy aftertaste I come to expect from any of the tropical/fruity prerolls I’ve tried. I can see this being a really great starter preroll for non-smokers or people that don’t love the ‘weedy’ taste.

I found it to be a very smooth and ‘easy’ joint overall to smoke. The crown lights up easily, and it burns slowly and evenly all the way down to the filter.

With most infused joints I find the cherry gets very dense (does that make sense?) and then a huge chunk of the joint breaks or falls off when you attempt to ash it. Although the cherry was dense in the same way here, I found using a little bit more care than I normally would kept it from breaking off entirely.

I was able to smother the second joint easily about halfway through and it maintained its integrity for the most part – I was able to light it and smoke the other half of it a couple hours later.

##// vibes Maui Wowie is definitely a sativa. Very bright, very uplifting. I know it’s cliché, but this weed + bright sunshine would be a perfect combination. Certain strains I’ve tried (shout out to SanRaf71 Pink Kush and Tribal Neon Sunshine…) give me ‘sunny’ peripheral visuals. Almost like I am outside with the sun beaming down – and I get that from this too. I like that. Very social, very chatty high. The GF loved em.

##// verdict I really wanted to dislike these. I think perhaps my only complaint was the kief missing from the crown, and they are a bit on the pricey side for me to incorporate into my regular rotation (which doesn’t often include prerolls anyhow).

EDIT: This is not a beginner preroll. The easy smoking nature is awfully deceptive, but its clocked at 40% and that is no joke.

I can see why Jeeter has such a huge following south of the border, especially with younger people, its definitely ‘fun’, haha (I hate that I typed this but I’m leaving it in). Tastes good, smoked great, got me stoned, I can’t ask for anything else. Thumbs up for sure - again - not for beginners.
