i've been on sertraline for almost 3 months now (im on 100mg) and it's working great for me. i struggled with MDD, anxiety and OCD-like (that's what my psychiatrist said, i don't have OCD but i have obsessive compulsive thoughts and tendencies) symptoms and sertraline has helped me immensely with my mental health. however, i have one big issue, ever since i started taking sertraline, my motivation has disappeared. i know that lack of motivation is a common side effect alongside emotional blunting, but i find that i haven't experienced the emotional blunting side effect. either way, i've heard that taking a low dose of aripiprazole with sertraline can help with regaining motivation. it can also boost the effects of sertraline, though i need some more insight and perhaps someone who has taken/is taking sertraline + low dose aripiprazole can tell me how it's worked for them? since i'm also young, i'm a bit scared of the side effects of aripiprazole because it can increase the risk of T2 diabetes.
as a side note: i used to take 0.25mg risperidone alongside my sertraline but my prolactin levels rised up which caused some uncomfortable side effects (gynecomastia, galactorrhea) T-T though the risperidone was for anxiety, i know that it's also an antipsychotic like aripiprazole. however, i will not continue taking risperidone.
i also have an appointment with my psychiatrist tomorrow and i'll bring up this to them, though it'd be nice to know what other fellow sertraline users think ^_^
