I get why people are upset about the update schedule, but review bombing ARC Raiders feels like the wrong move

I get why people are upset. Embark went from talking about monthly updates to two major updates a year, and for a live-service extraction game, that is a big shift.

But review bombing feels like the wrong move. ARC Raiders is not a bad game. The foundation is still strong: the atmosphere, gunplay, ARC enemies, sound design, and extraction tension are all great. The real issue is that the game needs better long-term progression and more meaningful reasons to keep playing between major updates.

Criticism is fair. Being disappointed is fair. But trying to tank the game’s reputation does not help.

The better message is: we still like the game, but six months between major updates only works if the smaller updates in between actually matter.

Embark has to prove this new schedule is worth it. Fewer updates can work only if they are bigger, healthier, and actually improve the game.
