I just posted previously on this subreddit on whether or not I should tear down my 2016 yz250x that i just bought.

I tore it down after ordering a top end kit, but my question is, should I or can I reuse this piston? it looks brand new all the way around, no scratches or wear... I can still see the milling marks everywhere. I'll replace the rings if I do. If i shouldn't use it, could I keep it as a backup, or no?

I’m getting a lot of different answers online. I can’t figure what a good compression psi is. I know as a rule of thumb, if any two stroke gets below 120 you need to do a top end… my bike is at 175. Some people say do a top end when it hits 205, some say when it hits 150. The Yamaha service manual I found online doesn’t tell me the psi either. Does anyone have a book that has an exact number or can get me some advice? Please.
