Ditching the whole Spotify thing

Today, I finally started to leave Spotify and starting listening to my mom's old iPod. So far, enjoying the process and can't wait to add more music.

Hello, I've been trying to figure a better and cheaper way to listen to music overall. I rarely listen to my phone speaker and usually connect to Bluetooth. I'd like to remove the concept of subscription since Spotify raises prices and you basically rent the music you listen to.

To me, I don't listen to much modern music and latest releases. I mainly listen to songs that are prior to 2010. Eminem to The Beatles, all which I can burn from a CD.

I'm overall, I prefer this kind of listening.

For my use, would anyone recommend the Y1?
