1995 7.3 Oil Leak
Newer Purchase. The primary oil leak (and only main drip) was on the front, fixed by a shop by replacing the oil pump gear housing. Great, leak fixed. Very little leak from this. Just wanted to seal the motor up. Next morning had a decent puddle from the back of the motor, take it to the same shop (surprisingly they let me take it in right away, as opposed to the week long wait period for the first repair) and they get underneath, and diagnose it as a rear main seal leak.
Suggestion: $4500+ in bills, pull the cab AND the motor and replace the rear main and the oil pan at the same time. The oil pan because the silicone “felt different” than normal. No UV light test, or cleaning it then running. Also, they suggest $500 in cab mounts if it comes off.
Here’s some pictures. it looks like its coming above the rear main. Thoughts?
The previous oil leak was no where near as bad. The drivers side valve cover is a little wet on top. Getting it tested with UV fluid tomorrow.
