why dont makita framing nailers support 2.8mm diamater nails?

As far as i can tell all of the other major companies framing nailers support nails which are 2.8mm in diameter, but makita's latest 18v and 40v models dont support that size, which is very annoying as there is countless options for buying nails in those sizes, but a very limited selection for 2.9-3.3mm as far as i can tell.

Any reason why this is?

Question about nail size in the Makita framing nailers

I'm looking at getting the Makita 40v BN001GZ Framing Nailer, and it says you can use screw thicknesses from 2.9mm to 3.3mm.

In the UK there are seemingly endless 2.8mm framing nail packs, but I can barely find any in the 2.9mm to 3.3mm.

To be more specific, I am after 2.9mm x 50mm nails, as I will be nailing featheredge into 2x4 timber (44x95mm).

So if I bought some 2.8mm nails would this be ok to use with the nail gun or is it likely to jam up /damage the tool etc?

I'm looking for some cycling glasses for use when commuting to work and back, doesn't have to be aero or anything like that, just general use.

My cycling route is about 70% road, 30% gravel/ off road routes if that matters at all.

I want to make sure these glasses are safe, won't shatter in the event of a crash etc and block sun glare obviously.

I have no preference or knowledge of any brands or anything like that besides one passing mention of a brand called oatley, I'm still fairly new to the cycling world.

I live in the UK.

any recommendations are useful.
