How does one continue to play violin seriously if you have a different job?
Hi, i am in my senior year in high school and next year i plan to go to an engineering university in Europe. Playing the violin has, at least for the past year, been very enjoyable for me (studying Bruch 3rd mov). However, i realize that keeping up technique with scales and etudes and new repertoire should take a significant amount of dedicated time every day, forever. I wouldn't want to deteriorate but i also don't know how much time i will be able to dedicate in the coming years, let alone in my professional life. So, if there are experienced players here, how does one manage? I know i will feel awful if i don't get enough practice everyday, is this a pipe dream? Is it possible?
