Hi,
I just wanted to share my own case as well as my lawyer's perspective to the rest of the group, and see if anyone else is experiencing similar issues. For context, I applied for the expedited service on March 18th, and my 30th working day of waiting was on May 1st, and I did not hear back. However, We did receive an email on April 30th stating the following:
"We are unable to make a decision on your application within published visa processing times. For up-to-date information on processing times, visit https://u28610873.ct.sendgrid.net/ls/click?upn=u001.crwiFCZRjnQvbaHEQ6MY6ZlL11I2DKetpdBB5TAxGu0n7aBh46cdJW2VJguEp2HvAdPYZVjPldBpOifxrpbz6k-2FOkgn8wLvZwwHY-2B1AkSKM-3DPB8n_IYxm07uG4whlfCra1aW-2BNo43G6wJEa1nRS8CA6NcxvT6SYZ9tKBIjSvPtGZW553bE2Fcz27iQNdbL-2FTH88xKympbnOBHI5dFHBv3ZPJ4TrpeZwvekid-2BXZbkg3N6wRrskV-2FQu12tTQx-2FlbINifGpDLEWjGCHZKMhVRx5Ms93NNux2-2BQOBH4SDaS4mWX71vBJlMDsBdMcVWRU48FtH2JhUP4QthWQiQzwdt6M5w0sah9g2zauIy3yYgoj7hA8L4h2-2BWJpBCsHqcPh5xZZjfGHhw-3D-3D
Do not contact UK Visa and Immigration, we will contact you if we require more information.
Please be assured that we will continue to progress your application to make a decision as soon as possible.
Your visa application may take longer to process, if for example:
• the information in your application is not accurate or requires further consideration
• you need to provide further evidence, for example evidence of funds
• your supporting documents need to be verified
• you need to attend an interview
• further information is required on your personal circumstances (for example if you have a criminal conviction)
• UKVI is experiencing increased visa demand

First, the link the email sent us to does not work for family/spousal visa applications, so there is no means of actually getting the information they claim they can share.
Secondly, this email sent me into a bit of a panic, worrying that something was wrong with my application. However, my wife and I have been together for nearly 4 years, lived together for 2, and make well over the minimum income requirement. Our application was done by a well-known London law firm who is very confident that all of our documents and evidence were well-beyond acceptable.
Thus, my lawyer theorizes that the reason for delays is that there are reports that US Visa applications to the UK are majorly backed up.
I'm reaching out here to see if:
- Any other US visa applicants are experiencing delays?
- Anyone has received this email in the past, and if so how many days after receiving it was a decision made?
- If anyone has advice on any kind of follow up we can do with the home office to expedite the process further.
- If the decision takes significantly longer (say 2-3 weeks more), if we would be eligible to receive our money back that we paid for the expedited service.
Its tough to see some people who did BIO a week later have their approvals and we haven't heard anything back yet.
Has anyone (notably from the US) heard back who did BIO around March 18th?
