Ok so I started on bass trombone in February and my breath control is pitiful. It's like I take the deepest breath I can using my diaphragm, and yet I can't blow for more than 6 seconds at mf on anything below the stave.

Is this something that tends to improve the more you do long tones and I need to trust the process? Or should I just accept that my lungs aren't large enough for this lol

Is 6-7 seconds really that pitiful or is it more common than I'm thinking?
