Fairlands Sport and Aquatics Center, Laurel MD

Another community pool, you can pay for single visits. It’s a nice facility. Unfortunately the lockers are the diabolic kind which require you to insert two quarters and withdraw a pull-out key so bring .50 in exact change.

You have a row of showers with stalls, probably originally communal. For a time there were no curtains! Then the curtains went up. Most guys will close them. There are no changing booths outside the showers though and you have to hang up your stuff on the wall opposite the stalls. So there’s still a good amount of communal nudity getting in and out of the showers, drying off, etc. I’ve left the curtain open here without issue. Because the stalls are small you kind of have to step halfway out to let the water hit your lower body. One guy once poked his head into mine and asked to get soap out of my dispenser, his was empty. I didn’t take it as anything other than face value.

The locker room area is an open layout that also sees a good amount of nudity.

Despite the lack of proper CS I give it 🍆 🍆 🍆 at least on a good day.

Rockville Swim Center, Rockville MD

This is a large and heavily used facility with multiple pools indoors and out. Non-residents pay a fee to use.

The main (indoor) locker room has two bays of CS one of which also includes a row of stall conversions. Because a lot of swim teams and younger folks go here the stalls see a lot of use. That said, you do also see guys in the CS, sometimes in suits and sometimes nude. Not much of a social locker room from what I’ve been able to tell. Feels kind of cold and isolating.

There are also CS in the outdoor pavilions, but I’ve never seen those used and strongly suspect they’re mainly for rinsing. I think it would come off as odd to strip down and shower there.

🍆 🍆 and a half out of 5.
