could someone please explain how you would get y here: 2x - 4y = 12 (x is -2)

i’m really stumped

i’ll be going into grade 12 this September but I went to study abroad during my 11th year and i didn’t receive any credits from it. i studied in a private school in BC for grade 10 but i didn’t like it so i was hoping to be able to take online summer school for the mandatory 11 credits then sign up for a new school for 12.

I can’t seem to find any online summer schools that don’t cost and arm and a leg and allow me to take more than two courses. i’m not currently enrolled in a school but i have a PEN and all the requirements regardless.

Does anyone have any experience and can recommend me something ?
