what monitor choose ?
Hello, I've been researching various monitors (a list with over 20 models) and trying to find reviews and analyze the information, which has been quite complicated. However, I managed to narrow the list down to my 3 favorites and I'm really undecided. I would like some opinions. These 3 monitors have different characteristics.
1 - TCL 27G64 Mini-LED
27 inches
QHD
180 Hz
A good mini-LED monitor, with plenty of information available and excellent black quality. It has few brightness zones, around 180, but, being a VA panel, its contrast and software provide excellent black tones with little light leakage.
2 - ASUS TUF VG34WQML5A
34 inches
WQHD
250 Hz
A different monitor, this one has a VA panel, ultra-wide QHD and 250 Hz, from a very reputable brand in the market. Great features, and I currently own an ASUS TUF Gaming VG259, so I have a lot of affection for this brand, as it's by far the best monitor in terms of contrast and color that I've ever seen. I was undecided between it, the Ultra Gear, and the AOC Agon, but this is the best of the three.
3 - SuperFrame Wing Mini-LED
27 inches
4K - FHD
165 Hz - 330 Hz
This is the most controversial; it has the fewest reviews and is from an unofficial brand. I saw that it has the same panel as the KTC M27P6, a relatively well-known monitor. I only found one review of it, and it was compared to a C6K TV. It has approximately 1000 lighting zones, but the software is quite weak, and it's an IPS panel, so there's more noticeable light leakage, even though it's 4K...
Among these 3, I personally much prefer the SuperFrame Wing. If it were from a reputable brand, I would buy it immediately. However, it has very few reviews and is from a very bad brand on the market. I already had a SuperFrame, which was quite cheap. I didn't have problems with ghosting or black blur, but the colors, even being IPS, were very faded and tended towards green in the corners. It didn't even come close to the quality of my Asus TUF.
And between the Asus TUF and the TCL, I personally, if both are QHD, would go for the ultrawide with a higher refresh rate, even if it means lower image quality.
