Straight or curved walkway planting border?
I have a 48-inch wide, 18.5 ft long front walkway with a shorter walkway branching right from the entry landing to the driveway. I want to add an 18-inch planting strip with 6-inch concrete curbing along the walkways, but I am torn between running the borders straight or curving them.
The layout is asymmetrical. On the left side, the border connects neatly into an existing planting bed near the house. On the right side, it dead-ends into the driveway walkway.
Option A (straight): Pro is the main walkway borders will look more symmetrical. Con is the driveway walkway gets no border at all.
Option B (curved): Pro is both walkways get a planted border. Con is the curves are asymmetrical since the left side has a longer run to reach the existing bed while the right side connects to the driveway walkway much sooner. I have also gotten feedback that the curved option might make the grass section on the right look too small (the lawn on the left side is quite large).
