LPT: make your own „grated cheese“
Grated cheese bought in packages is way more expensive than cheese bought in blocks and often contains additives like cornstarch.
But the grating of whole blocks is either taking too long (if done by hand) or you have to clean the chopper.
My tip: buy a block of cheese. Freeze it. Thaw it. Crumble it with your fingers. You can do it even without opening the package, just squeeze the cheese between your fingers or just crumble it in a container.
I am using this method for 50% fat reduced cheddar and it works perfectly.
I buy it in bulk, freeze it and whenever I run out of cheese a put a block on the counter until thawed and crumble it.
