My boyfriend often worries that something is medically wrong, even when there aren’t clear symptoms. For example, he’s thought he had things like tetanus, food poisoning, or that he accidentally swallowed something harmful. He even called me recently saying that he was freaked out that a speck of the bathtub came off and he thought he swallowed it.
When this happens, he gets anxious and comes to me for reassurance. I’ve tried to be supportive, but it’s become very frequent, and I’m starting to feel overwhelmed and unsure how to respond.
I care about him and don’t want to dismiss his feelings, but I’m feeling drained and don’t know if I’m handling this the right way.
AITA? Any advice?
